The Alabama Home Builders Foundation scholarship was founded in 1995 with a mission to help fund deserving students who are interested in pursuing an education in the residential building trades in the state of Alabama. As of 2015, the Foundation has awarded over $500,000 in scholarship funding has been awarded to over 1,000 students.


  1. Must be a resident of Alabama
  2. Must be enrolling in, or attending, a junior college, technical school or university in Alabama
  3. Must be enrolled in a construction-related curriculum

Deadline and Submission:

  • Applications submitted electronically, through the AHB Foundation website, must be received by end-of-business day, March 15th
  • All mailed applications must be postmarked by March 15th
  • All faxed and emailed applications must be received by end-of-business day March 15th

Required Attachments:

  • College or high school transcript (whichever is most recent)
  • Minimum of one letter of recommendation from an HBAA member, teacher or supervisor
  • Proof of residency, such as a copy of a state-issued identification or a copy of a utility bill
